about Schoolsculptures

For over twenty-five years, Kevin Reese has brought his enthusiasm for theatre and the visual arts to thousands of schools, performing arts centers, museums and international festivals. Apollo: to the Moon , his first one-man show, has enjoyed over 1600 performances nationwide and abroad. A Perfect Balance , his second internationally-acclaimed solo performance, combined Kevin's considerable skills as an actor with his work as a mobile artist. The show's success created a demand for workshops with students and teachers to explore its themes, content, and artistry. His Mobile Residency Project was born in 2001 when a teacher asked Kevin to work with her students to design and build a permanent piece of public art for their school. Since then, SchoolSculptures has created over 60 installations in twelve states, offering hundreds of children and adults the chance to apply their artistic, mathematical, and teamwork skills to envisioning and realizing a “moving” sculpture for their community.
