Kevin Reese (actor, designer, and teaching artist) is a California native and resident of Washington, D.C. since 1989. He has performed throughout the United States, including productions with the Seattle Children's Theatre, the San Jose Repertory Theatre and the Honolulu Theatre for Youth. From 1982-87, he was a resident actor with the California Theatre Center and toured with CTC to Canada, Europe and Peru. In Washington, he has appeared at Arena Stage, Shakespeare Theatre, Ford's Theatre, Kennedy Center, Signature Theatre, Round House Theatre, and the National Zoo.

From 1989 to the present, he has performed his one-man show, Apollo: To The Moon, over 1500 times throughout the U.S., Canada, and at the Dublin International Theatre Festival. His second one-man show, A Perfect Balance, a highly acclaimed visual art and performance piece inspired by the work of Alexander Calder, has been performed over 800 times throughout the U.S. and in France. He is currently involved in working with students to create permanent sculptures in schools through the Mobile Residency Project.

Kevin Reese can work in a variety of community settings, including boys' and girls' clubs, hospitals, churches, libraries, community centers, and galleries.

Mary Hall Surface is one of the most widely produced playwright/directors specializing in theatre for family audiences in the United States. Her work has been featured at Seattle Children's Theatre, Dallas Children's Theatre, Arizona's Childsplay, Honolulu Theatre for Youth, as well as twelve productions at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

Touring productions of her plays Most Valuable Player, A Perfect Balance, and Apollo: to the Moon have been presented in every region of the U.S., as well as in Ireland, France, Peru, Germany, Italy, and across Canada. An anthology of five of her plays, Most Valuable Player and Four Other All-Star Plays for Middle and High School Audiences, was published by Smith and Kraus.

She has been nominated for four Helen Hayes Awards for Outstanding Direction and for the Charles MacArthur Award for Outstanding New Play. A national leader in her field, she was the director of New Visions 2000: One Theatre World, a national festival of theatre for young people and families co-produced by the Kennedy Center and ASSITEJ/USA.
